The Office of Student Services and Special Education supports and provides direction to schools and teachers in several areas. In addition to providing service to the students with disabilities, the department provides direction to students at risk of not graduating from high school.

The department also provides programmatic direction in the area of support services to all students. Those support services include: guidance and counseling, school social work, school psychology, school nursing, and alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention and intervention.
