In compliance with the Wisconsin Quality Educator Initiative (PI 34), and as a service to the School District of Waukesha employees who are working toward completing a Professional Development Plan (PDP) for licensure renewal, the following dates and workshop agendas have been secured for district support: Thursday, November 3, 2011 (3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) in Lindholm Room 213-215 This session will focus on initial goal writing. If you are a second year teacher; someone who is considering writing a PDP for the first time; or someone who has procrastinated on getting started, this would be a good session to attend. PDP reviewers will be present to help guide you through the process of goal writing. You do not have to attend for the full three hours; you can stop in, get some ideas and stay to work; or feel free to stay for as little as 15 minutes and leave to work on your own. Tuesday, December 6, 2011 (4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) in Lindholm Room 213-215 The purpose of this session is to provide you with PDP reviewers to approve your initial goal. Once your goal has been approved, you can officially start the action portion of your plan and begin compiling artifacts. Reviewers will be available from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will be set up at stations. You do not need an appointment; just stop by and meet with whomever you choose as your PDP Review Team. Wednesday, March 7, 2012 (4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) in Lindholm Room 213-215 The audience for this session are those professionals who have completed their PDP's and are ready to submit them to DPI. There will be reviewer representation from the teacher category, the administration category, and the institute of higher education category. Because you will need your entire PDP approved by a member from each of the categories, you will be asked to sign up for a specific timeslot if you wish to attend this session. Look for a sign-up reminder in February. In the meantime, if you would like to start the PDP process on your own, QEI (Quality Education Interactive) has a website that allows you to get support, build an electronic portfolio, and gain approval all online. The address is http://qei.wisconsin.edu. If you have questions regarding any of the workshop days, please contact Sarah Ottow at sottow@waukesha.k12.wi.us or Becky Newcomer at bnewcome@waukesha.k12.wi.us.
