Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs

The School District of Waukesha has received a grant from the federal government entitled "Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Program" to support programs that prevent violence in and around schools, prevent the illegal use of alcohol, tobacco and drugs, and are coordinated with other efforts in order to support student academic achievement.

The Safe and Drug Free Schools grant has established this program to provide educational and support services to students experiencing the problems of drug and alcohol abuse directly themselves, or from others they know. The program consists of training for staff and the delivery of educational services through support groups and materials and supplies. Students receive services by joining support groups (Concerned Others Groups, Aftercare Groups, athletic groups, use/abuse groups, and tobacco cessation groups) or by direct contact with one of our trained staff members.
