| Tennis New Are you looking for a fun way to stay in shape this winter? If so, tonight the South girls and boys tennis team is hosting an open hit around in the South gym from 7 to 9pm. Everybody is invited to play whether if you play on the team or are just a gym class hero. If you have any questions please stop in to see Coach Alft in room 132 and see you Wednesday night for some tennis in the gym!

| HOSA Fundaiser New Student Announcement – Wednesday, Feb. 10
Attention everyone - It has been 30 days since the earthquake in Haiti and there is still so much to be done .Waukesha South, North and West are going to work together to raise funds for Haiti. On Friday at the end of the announcement we are going to have a Miracle Minute. What is a Miracle Minute? For one minute after the announcements on Friday, your third hour teacher will pass around a bag for you to toss in your spare change. Every 3rd hour class in the school will be invited to participate in this a miracle minute. After class someone from you class will bring your bag of change to the office. After school Waukesha South, North and West will meet at the Bank to have a check made out to the Red Cross. Please remember to bring your spare change to school on Friday.

Today we would like to end the announcements with a miracle minute for Haiti. Waukesha South, West and North are working together to raise money for Haiti. This is not a competition between high schools. We are hoping that for the next minute your 3rd hour teacher will pass around the miracle minute bag they received. During the next minute you are invited to give your spare change to the Red Cross to help earthquake victims in Haiti. At the end of the minute please send a class representative to the principal office to turn in your money. Let’s start the Miracle Minute now. Hope only costs a penny! Remember your efforts are helping local kids with cancer and funding research to find a cure. The sky is the limit! It would take 270 billion pennies stacked up to tower 238,857 miles to the moon! Keep up your teamwork and generosity with Pennies for Patients.
Thursday, Feb. 11th:
Melissa one of this year’s Honored Heroes. She is a 4th grader from Baraboo WI. Melissa was diagnosed in 2008. Her first year of treatment was rock, but now she is doing well. She loves to swim and play golf and wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Melissa wants to let you know that having leukemia is NOT FUN, but you can beat it! “Thank you for helping me beat cancer!”
Friday, Feb 12th:
Today is the last day of our Pennies for Patients program! Be sure to turn in all of your coins today. Congratulations to all of you for your hard work. The teachers and staff at South are amazed at your compassion and generosity! Give yourselves a round of applause! We also want to say a big thank you from the Honored Heroes and everyone at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! A cure for cancer—it just makes cents!

| HOSA Fundaiser New Attention all Students – Would you like to help a child in Haiti – The Health Academy’s HOSA chapter is inviting Your first hour class to fill up 1 backpack with personal hygiene items, school supplies and a pair of shoes for one child in Haiti. This project will be offered in each first hour class beginning Tuesday, Feb 2- Friday, Feb 12. We hope your first hour class will get involved with this service project. Arrangements have been made to ship the backpacks to children in Haiti. Make a difference to one child in Haiti. Your first hour teacher has a flyer with all the details.

| SENIORS - Transcripts New
Mid year grades are now recorded on transcripts. Some colleges request seventh semester transcripts and Mid Year Reports. Mid Year Reports and your seventh semester transcript will not be sent automatically. Please see Mrs. Furman in the guidance office if a Mid Year Report and seventh semester transcript is required. You will need to pay the $3.00 fee per transcript but you will not need to provide an additional Transcript Request Form.
